A multi-billion-dollar grocer was struggling to fill a full-time Chief Data Officer role (a new position for the company), and this was slowing down its ability to optimize its ecommerce fulfillment network—a critical project. The consultant was able to quickly step in and help the team by further defining the functional strategy—which included developing a governance structure and analytical framework to ensure the data platform served the current and future needs of all users, both internal and external. With the data science project back in motion, the executive team had more time and bandwidth to address long-term hiring needs, and the eventual new hire was better equipped for success.
