Assessing UK M&A Targets

A US-based technology company was expanding its European footprint. Looking to jump-start growth, the regional head of business development contacted Business Talent Group for support conducting upfront M&A target assessments in the UK. The goal: to lay out strategic rationales and build financial models to quantify potential opportunities.

We delivered a former McKinsey engagement manager and financial services strategist whose consulting practice focused on growth, innovation, new market entry and product launch. From an initial list of 15 companies, she researched competitive positioning, quantified potential synergies, and built preliminary Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) models and material adverse change (MAC) clauses to help the client identify the most promising targets.
